The long-awaited Auðn album is being released and we want to celebrate! Auðn themselves go on first and are followed by Grafir, Skuggsjá and Draugsól. It’s a night any metal-head would be ashamed to miss.
To promote their new album ‘Reversal’, Pokahontaz performs at Gaukurinn as part of their European tour. Pokahontaz is a Polish hip-hop group made up of Fokus, Rahim, DJ Bambus, and Minix. Blaz Roca (XXX Rottweiler hundar) goes on first to warm up the crowd. Read more here.

Norwegian brothers Sturle and Sjur are Sturle Dagsland. In live performances they alternate between an array of instruments including spacedrum, waterphone, clarinet, trumphet, accordion, sheng, harp, electronics, computers, guitar, vocals, and homemade instruments.
Yuma Sun are recording their third album in Iceland. The band is inspired by the American gothic country scene. In their live performances, Yuma Sun combine the visual elements closely with the musical components. Listen to them here:

In the aftermath of the tragic earthquake in Nepal, Iceland-Nepal has been working hard to take care of orphaned children. To show their support, Radio Iceland is organising a benefit concert to raise money for the cause.
Viking metal warriors Skálmöld will ravage Gaukurinn 2 times on May 30th. Make sure to bring your drinking horns, fur pelts, and battle axes. Who knows what could happen?

Plato fans Ring of Gyges will celebrate the release of their first album “Ramblings of Madmen” at Gaukurinn on June 6th. The metal/progressive rock band crowdfunded this album, like true modern men, and will be joined by Ottoman.

The English post-rock band Adore//Repel will rock Gaukurinn on June 6. Icelandic Lily of the Valley will follow, having just released their first single ‘Wildflower’, which you can check out here. Tighten your corset, glue that extra gear onto your goggles, and finally wear that fascinator you bought off Etsy, ’cause those who show up in Steampunk costumes get special offers at the bar. There’s no excuse.
Looking for some harmony? Look no further, brother, ’cause Gaukurinn is having an open jam sess on June 11. The bar will provide drums, a guitar and vocal mics, but feel free to bring more obscure instruments, like that vintage mandolin you play ‘Stairway to Heaven’ on.
